Pinnacle Bank Championship Presented by Woodhouse Announces Ceremonial Tee Shot Honoree

The Pinnacle Bank Championship Presented by Woodhouse tournament is set to kick off with a ceremonial tee-off shot on August 8th. U.S. Army veteran Randy Squier has been selected to kick off tournament play.
Squier’s journey began when he joined the Army in July 1976. After completing Basic Training, he was stationed in Erlangen, Germany for two and a half years, followed by a tenure at Fort Riley, Kansas with the 701st Maintenance Battalion. He then returned to Nürnberg, Germany for another three years. His service continued at Fort Ord, California, where he served as the Maintenance Shop Foreman, overseeing a team of over 50 mechanics in support of Fort Ord’s mechanized battalions.
In July 1984, Squier sustained an injury and was honorably discharged from the Army as a Staff Sergeant in 1985. Throughout his military career, he earned numerous Service Ribbons, including the Army Good Conduct Medal with Oak Clusters, the Army Achievement Medal and the Army Commendation Medal.
Since his discharge, Squier has been an active Life Member of the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) Great Plains Chapter. He has participated in many of the chapter’s sports and recreation programs, with a recent focus on golf through PGA HOPE (Helping Our Patriots Everywhere). About a year ago, Squier discovered the Powershot Golf Club, a swingless golf club that piqued his interest. With a grant from PGA HOPE, he was gifted the club and has since been eager to use it, share it with others and explore more adaptive ways to play golf.
Working together with Seth Scollard from PGA REACH, Squier has helped set up a golf program for PVA members, incorporating the Powershot Golf Club. This program provided veterans with the opportunity to learn adaptive golfing techniques, opening new avenues for participation in the sport.

Thanks to the support from PGA HOPE, a pillar of PGA REACH, and Seth Scollard, Squier’s dream of golfing has come true, and he has been able to share this passion with others.

The Pinnacle Bank Championship presented by Woodhouse will again this year make donations to several charities in Omaha, including First Tee of Omaha, PGA Reach Foundation and EPIC.
The ceremonial tee shot event lineup is interactive and is great for morning show live shots. Interviews will be available.
